New York Drug & Alcohol Education Requirements
New York's Judicial Diversion Program under CPL ยง216.05 provides an alternative to incarceration for eligible substance-related offenders, requiring treatment and education.
Under VTL ยง1196, DWI offenders must complete the Drinking Driver Program (DDP), a 16-hour education program. For DWAI (Driving While Ability Impaired), courts may order substance abuse education as well.
New York courts also order drug education as part of Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal (ACD) under CPL ยง170.55 for first-time drug possession offenses. Our program satisfies general substance abuse education requirements.

What is the Drinking Driver Program in New York?
The DDP is a 16-hour, 7-week state-certified program required for DWI convictions. Our Drug & Alcohol Awareness Class satisfies general court-ordered substance education but is not the state-certified DDP.
Can I get an ACD for a drug charge in New York?
Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal is available for eligible first-time drug offenses. The case is adjourned for 12 months, and if you complete requirements (including education) and stay out of trouble, the charges are dismissed.
